Polar Plunge at Feb Fest in Kingston
The Ontario Law Enforcement Polar Plunge took place at Crawford Wharf on Sunday February 9th, 2014 during Kingston's annual Feb Fest. They certainly picked a cold day for it. But that didn't deter the considerable number of masochists who braved the arctic conditions to jump into Lake Ontario for a good cause. Plungers queued for over an hour, some in their bare feet, waiting for the diving team to clear away ice, which took longer than anticipated since the ice was +/- 10cm thick.
All proceeds were to raise money and awareness for the Special Olympics of Ontario.
