Keeping Kids Krafty
When you have planned so many birthday parties it is hard to come up with new and exciting ideas! I know, I have been there. I have 2 little girls that love to do crafts. So here is a great idea to keep the party rolling and keep those little people busy!
Start out with a plain (white works best) clean mug, we looked at our local thrift stores and picked some up for .25 cents, but can also be bought at the Dollar store.
You need Sharpie markers, Sharpies can be bought in all different colours
Next you just let the kids use their imaginations and draw, colour and create.
My girls did this craft at the last sleepover we hosted, so each little girl wrote a little note to the person that owned the mug, like an autograph book.
Another girl made her mug for her MOM for Mothers Day, the sky is the limit.
Next you place the mugs on a cookie sheet and bake in the oven at 350 for 30 minutes, let cool and the mugs are ready to use.
I am not sure if the marker will last forever, I suggest they are hand washed.
The girls had so much fun doing this, next time I think we may decorate bowls. The local Dollar store had a lot of very pretty bowls, plates, mugs and platters all plain white. We also used a plain light blue mug and light pink. I thought the white ones turned out the nicest.
Great teachers gift with some coffee or hot chocolate packs in the mug, wrap in clear wrap and tie with a ribbon.
